Who can secure a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), what are the key factors to secure it:

A secure PPA is a long-term contractual agreement between an off-taker (distributor) and a power generator company (seller) that ensures:

Energy 24/7, 365 days a year, and does not depend on climate change, like solar, wind or hydro.
Stable prices for the period of the contract.
Predictable in operational costs and maintenance.
Low-risk energy supply.
Energy independence (It does not depend on the importation of fossil fuels and complex logistics transportation of the fuels from other countries).
Low-risk social opposition from surrounding communities.
Delivery terms in energy transportation to the grid.
Project in energy security, assures main source of energy.
Sovereign, means the main source belongs to the country.
Renewable with environmental attributes (Carbon Credits).
Reduces exposure to market price volatility in commodities.
Attracts foreign and national investment.
Increase electric grid resilience and colaborate with decarbonization.
High scalability rates of the project attract visionary investors.

The "secure" aspect refers to the mitigation of risks for both parties, ensuring the agreement is financially and technically viable, legally enforceable, and operationally reliable over its lifespan (typically 15 years for Tender PEG - 5) in Guatemala.
